SHATTERED KNIGHTS

An old guild, started in EverQuest I, as "The Knights of GameKey", started in a small business with fellow co-workers.

Upon release of EQ2, renamed and became SHATTERED KNIGHTS.

Shattered Knights was on the server Mistmoore from November 10, 2004 till June of 2008 when it was disbanded.

Shattered Knights was a noble guild that walked the lands of Norrath for 4 proud years, and prior to 3 EverQuest one years. After that long hell, we were a great guild. Times change. The world of MMO's change. The leader, Laeh, had life changes that led to the disbanding each time. First, was divorce, after the divorce, single life, and the party life, took charge, leaving a video game behind. The disbandment, which never goes well, was actually a celebration in Norrath in EverQuest I. A time in which an old guild said it was time to pass. And it passed from many political disputes into a great legacy in leaving.

Years later, as promised, the leader reformed the guild as Shattered Knights, for EverQuest 2. Many original EQ1 players joined, and on-goes the saga. With news in late 2008 of a new baby coming, a boy, the leader lay down the weapons, and the game for the responsibility at these ages is too much to also bear the responsibility of a guild. An attempt to pass the torch and an attempt to make a clean break were resisted by those the leader relyied on, and unlike EQ1, was made to shame for the years of service provided.

Regret and eventual natural disbandment left the writing clear to let it go, as the leader should have when the first child was born. It is just a game. Let us rejoice the times it brought relief from a world of stress, not just for the leader, but for all those that made Shattered Knights and The Knights of Gamekey come to pass. For all of those that left in distress, reflect only on your will to stay. It is a game, and when it became a personal distaste, no actions to depart were required but your own, just as the leader should have done year or more ago.

To all members ever been, and maybe ever will, this guild was fun, it was clean, and it was nice. Let's remember it there, and leave those undesired actions of us all behind. It takes a great leader to bear the burden of time, politics, and a great diversity of people. In the errors, there was success, and in that it is best to respect and reflect.

Should a day this guild rises again... this site will go live again, until then, be true to yourself, as it is you that causes yourself the most hardship.
